I am a Asthma sufferer & over the last few years it has got increasingly worse. Having the flu jab gives me peace of mind that it will help prevent certain strains of flu. The only side affects that I get is my arm is tender & gets hot where the injection was, this only lasts a couple of days.

Anyone who has had a real bout of 'flu will understand that it's a serious thing, as opposed to 'man flu' or any heavy cold. It's particularly dangerous when you're elderly or if your health is compromised in any way. That's why I took the decision to get an annual 'flu 'jab'. After the first, some five or six years ago, I had a little arm stiffness and a day of being 'wiped out' and I had to rest. Since then I have not suffered any side effects and neither have I had a single bout of 'flu. Obviously when making your choice you should take any allergies etc. into consideration, and take the overall advice of your health provider, but, for me, if it comes to a choice between suffering 'flu or a bit of arm stiffness, there just isn't a choice. I'm practically first in the queue for my 'jab' every year.
